Kitten milk formula

Oh no! Whole Dahab ran out of kitten milk! Luckily we found a recipe from a German breeder that worked really well for the flour kittens. In case you are in a similar situation here is the formula:
  • 50g Bebelac Lactose free (!) baby milk powder
  • 1 egg + 1 yolk
  • 1 tea spoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tea spoon glucose (grape sugar) or honey
  • a dash of dry yeast
  • 1 drop vitamin B-complex
  • 150 ml water or fennel tea (good against congestions)
-> Mix all the contents and heat the part you need for feeding up to 30 °C (~ hand-hot).
The rest of the mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for 24 hours.

  2. Hi Sonia, unfortunately I am not expert enough to answer your question. One day old is very very little ... If the mother does not feed the kittens it is for sure the best to find a vet who can help you. Good luck!!!

  5. Hi Dina,
    we were successful with:

2 weeks old -> feeding every 2 hours
3 weeks old -> feeding every 3 hours

And VERY important it MUST BE Lactose FREE milk powder in the recipe, otherwise the kitten will be ill.

    Good luck!!!!
